Edward de Vere, Earl of Oxford was "Shakespeare." So... Who was Edward de Vere, Earl of Oxford? Now we're talking.

Looks neat. I like the portrayal of Elizabeth as a desiccated crone.
Nice to see famed actor - and noted Oxfordian - Derek Jacobi in the cast. Some time ago he recorded the letters of Edward de Vere, which were released in a two-CD set:

He also guest-starred in one of the best episodes of "Frasier," playing a washed-up Shakespearean actor whose motto should have been "not without mustard." (Because he was such a ham, get it?) Complete episode on YouTube:

Thank you, @Thomism, @Ricardo and @Salvador. And thank you in particular, @Michael, for these helpful links. I love the Jacobi 2-CD set of readings from Edward de Vere's letters. Gorgeous prose read by an immortal voice that can send shivers straight up the spine. Highly recommended.
I too am psyched, after watching the trailer several times today. Doesn't D. Jacobi play some kind of a Shake-spearean metanarrative commentator? That's what it looked like. Which is fine. The more of him the better. When I hear "shivers up my spine," I know that I must immediately go and check his reading of dV's letters. Thanks for the tip
