Dr. Horrible

Nothing to do with anything, really. Just one amazing piece of musical dramedy. Made possible, courtesy of Joss Wheadon and family and friends, by otherwise idle pens during last year's writer's strike. DVD here.

i don't think this is totally unrelated. i think Dr Horrible is probably a very good approximation of just how good the shakespeare/de vere stuff was in it's time. the early stuff was dramedy for the court, undoubtedly brimming with a similarly raucous style and cartoon energy, and although we can't ever know exactly how the early plays were staged, i think they were probably not unlike this in terms of their overall quality and enjoyability.
