As They Liked It

There is no good contemporary film adaptation of Shakespeare's pastoral comedy set in the Forest of Arden... or, rather, there was no such beast. Apparently till now. Starting Monday, HBO will be broadcasting Kenneth Branagh's adaptation of As You Like It, set in 19th century Japan. Consensus of the reviews seems to be a solid thumbs up..

I found it rather... interesting to say the least. It was funny, and sometimes hard to follow. But then again, it WAS Shakespeare, haha.

I liked the version though. The only question/complaint I have is this: why was Rosalind's disguise so horrid? The only reason I can find for this is because, back when it was originally performed, disguises weren't well done.

ANYWHO, just wanted to say that it was a pretty well done adaptation of AYLI.
