First of all, from the standpoint of the authorship debate, I imagine it would be difficult to explain the circumstantial case for De Vere in movie form. It's diffucult as it is in book form, because most people are not familiar with Elizabethan English. Then you have the fact that many of Roland Emmerich's movies have been overblown and trite. "The Day After Tomorrow" and "Independence Day" were only fair movies in terms of plot and character development. But at least they delivered in terms of action and special effects, supposedly Emmerich's strong points. With "Anonymous" Emmerich is charting new territory. Can he create an interesting and convincing case that De Vere was the author of the plays attributed to Will Shaksper? Finally, the movie will argue that De Vere was Queen Elizabeth's child and that they also had a child of their own. While I am receptive to this theory, many Oxfordians are not, and this part of the story will be used by Stratfordians to attack the entire authorship case for De Vere. So Emmerich is giving the ammunition to the Strats... Can Emmerich overcome all this? I sure as heck hope so.Peterhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02029519020537696384noreply@blogger.com
